Meenakshi College of Physiotherapy successfully conducted a Professional Development Program (PDP) titled “From Bench to Board: Advanced Workshop on Manuscript Writing, Data Visualization, and Patent Application Writing” on 10th January 2026, with the aim of strengthening research competence and scholarly output among faculty members, research scholars, and postgraduate students.
The programme was formally inaugurated in the presence of Prof. Dr. Arunagirinathan, Dean of Research, MAHER, and Prof. Dr. Parthasarathy R, Principal, Meenakshi College of Physiotherapy. The programme was organized under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mahesh Kumar PG, MAHER, reflecting the institution’s continued focus on research capacity building and academic excellence.
The technical session was delivered by Dr. Balamurugan Janakiraman, Professor (Research), SRM College of Physiotherapy, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur. His session offered comprehensive and practical insights into the structured process of scientific manuscript writing, effective data visualization techniques, and the foundational aspects of patent application writing. The session clearly explained how research ideas evolve from conceptualization to publication, emphasizing clarity, accuracy, ethical research conduct, and responsible publication practices.
Faculty members from various constituent colleges of MAHER, along with postgraduate students and research scholars, actively participated and engaged in the discussions. The interactive question-and-answer session provided valuable clarity on common challenges in research writing, data presentation, and publication strategies, allowing participants to benefit from expert guidance and real-world perspectives.
The programme concluded on a highly positive note, motivating participants to pursue research with enhanced confidence, integrity, and a deeper understanding of the role of quality research in advancing knowledge and innovation.
