Meenakshi College of Physiotherapy Faculty Delivers Expert Talk at National Symposium on Vestibular Rehabilitation

Dr. Sugasri Sureshkumar, Head of the Department (I/C), PT in NeuroScience, Meenakshi College of Physiotherapy, delivered an insightful talk on “Exploring the Myths of Vestibular Rehabilitation” at a symposium organized by the Department of Neurology, Faculty of Physiotherapy, Dr. M.G.R. Educational & Research Institute, Chennai, on 11th February 2026.

The session witnessed the participation of 160 attendees from various institutions, including undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as faculty members. Dr. Sugasri’s presentation focused on clarifying common misconceptions surrounding vestibular rehabilitation and provided a comprehensive overview of vestibular symptoms, assessment strategies, therapeutic manoeuvres, dosage planning, and current evidence-based concepts. She also highlighted emerging approaches and emphasized the importance of adopting a multidisciplinary, team-based strategy in managing vestibular disorders.

The lecture stimulated academic discussion and encouraged evidence-based clinical practice, offering participants a deeper understanding of contemporary vestibular rehabilitation techniques and their practical applications in neurological physiotherapy. Such academic engagements continue to strengthen collaborative learning and promote excellence in research-driven clinical practice.
