The Department of Orthopedic Physiotherapy, under the Faculty of Physiotherapy, successfully organized a one-day guest lecture titled “From Practice to Patents: Intellectual Property in Physiotherapy” on April 21, 2025.
The session featured Dr. Sooriaprakas Chandrasekaran, MDS, FPFA (USA), Diplomate IBE, and Associate Professor in the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital, as the esteemed resource person. His engaging lecture explored the crucial link between clinical practice and the patenting of innovative techniques in physiotherapy.
Faculty members, along with undergraduate and postgraduate students, actively participated and gained valuable insights into the role of intellectual property rights in safeguarding clinical advancements.
