Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute Hosts Workshop on “Transforming Research into Publication”

The Department of Community Medicine, in collaboration with the Research and Development Committee of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (MMCH&RI), Enathur, Kanchipuram, successfully organized a one-day workshop titled “Transforming Research into Publication” on 26 November 2025 at the New Lecture Hall, 250 Block. The workshop was aimed at strengthening research writing and publication skills among faculty members, postgraduate students, and early-career researchers.

The program commenced with an inaugural session held in the presence of institutional dignitaries, setting the tone for a focused academic engagement. The workshop featured expert sessions delivered by eminent resource persons, including Ms. Natasha Gulati, Customer Success Team Manager (South & Southeast Asia), Elsevier Health; Dr. V. M. Anantha Eashwar, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine, Sree Balaji Medical College; and Dr. R. Mathangi, Professor, Sree Balaji Dental College, Chennai.

The sessions comprehensively addressed critical aspects of scholarly publishing, such as developing a strong and structured manuscript, understanding the role of artificial intelligence in health research, selecting appropriate journals, and identifying and avoiding predatory journals. The deliberations were highly interactive, allowing participants to clarify doubts and gain practical, real-world insights into ethical publishing practices and effective manuscript preparation.

The workshop concluded with a post-test and feedback session, during which participants expressed a high level of satisfaction regarding the relevance, clarity, and applicability of the sessions. The program significantly contributed to enhancing participants’ confidence and competence in translating research work into quality scientific publications.
