The Department of Microbiology, in association with the Infection Prevention and Control Team of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (MMCHRI), organized an Awareness Programme on the occasion of National Deworming Day on 10th February 2025. The programme was conducted with the objective of educating participants on the importance of deworming in preventing parasitic infections and improving overall health outcomes.
The session highlighted the causes, transmission, prevention, and health implications of soil-transmitted helminth infections, with special emphasis on child and community health. Through interactive discussions and awareness messages, the programme underscored the role of preventive strategies, hygiene practices, and timely deworming in reducing disease burden and promoting public health.
