To mark International Yoga Day 2025, the Meenakshi Faculty of Pharmacy organized a special yoga awareness session titled “Yoga Sangam” to promote the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
The session began with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. D. Chamundeeswari, Principal, Meenakshi Faculty of Pharmacy, who emphasized yoga as a holistic approach for enhancing both physical and mental well-being. Mr. Sreenath, Senior Administrative Officer/PRO, MAHER, delivered an insightful speech highlighting yoga’s transformative impact on discipline, focus, and inner peace.
The core yoga session was conducted by Mrs. M. Ramya, Founder of Nirodham Yogalaya, Chennai, with practical demonstrations of yoga asanas by Mr. Bageerathan, M.Sc (Faculty of Yoga Sciences), guiding students on correct techniques and postures.
A special session for female students was led by Mrs. R. Ramya, focusing on how yoga can help manage irregular menstrual cycles, offering practical tips for integrating yoga into everyday routines.
Prof. Dr. K. K. Rajasekhar delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of the resource persons, organizing committee, and the active participation of students. After the session, participants submitted feedback via the Yoga Sangam portal and received digital certificates.
The event was a rejuvenating and insightful experience for all attendees, fostering a deeper understanding of yoga’s role in achieving holistic wellness.
