MMCHRI Hosts Gender Sensitisation Programme on Feminism and Equality

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) organized a Gender Sensitisation Programme on 21st August 2025 at the New 250 Lecture Hall, focusing on the theme “Has Feminism Attained its Goal of Gender Equality – A Debate.”

The event began with registration at 9:30 a.m., followed by a warm Welcome Address by Dr. Kala, Professor (OBG). The Inaugural Address was delivered by Dr. K.V. Rajasekhar, Dean, MMCHRI, who stressed the importance of gender awareness in academic and professional environments. This was followed by an insightful session on “ICC and its Commitment to Gender Equality” by Dr. C. Indhu, Presiding Officer, ICC, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive campus.

The highlight of the programme was a debate on whether feminism has achieved its goal of gender equality, where participants put forth diverse and thought-provoking perspectives. The engaging discussion shed light on the progress made and the challenges that remain in the pursuit of gender justice.

The programme concluded with a felicitation ceremony and a Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the valuable contributions of speakers, participants, and organizers.
