MMCHRI Marks World AIDS Day 2025 with Awareness Program on PEP and Needle-Stick Injury Prevention

The Department of General Medicine, in collaboration with the ART Centre of MMCHRI, observed World AIDS Day on 1st December 2025 with an impactful awareness program aimed at strengthening knowledge and promoting safe practices among healthcare professionals. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 250 faculty members and healthcare workers, reflecting the institution’s commitment to fostering a safer clinical environment.

Honourable speakers delivered insightful sessions that played a vital role in spreading awareness on Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) and strategies to prevent needle-stick injuries—two critical aspects of occupational safety in healthcare settings. Their expert guidance helped participants understand timely intervention protocols, risk mitigation measures, and the importance of adhering to standardized safety practices.

The program served as a meaningful platform to reinforce preventive strategies, empower healthcare workers with essential knowledge, and reaffirm the collective responsibility toward ensuring workplace safety and advancing the global fight against HIV/AIDS.
