MMCHRI Marks World Antimicrobial Awareness Week with Creative and Informative Student-Led Activities

The Department of Microbiology at MMCHRI observed World Antimicrobial Awareness Week from November 18th to 24th, 2025, with a series of engaging and educational activities aimed at promoting awareness on antimicrobial resistance (AMR). As part of the initiative, second-year MBBS students actively participated by creating informative posters and delivering short seminars on the urgent global challenge posed by AMR. The best posters and presentations were recognized and awarded, encouraging students to continue their efforts in responsible antibiotic use and public health advocacy.

Students from the Nursing and Allied Health Sciences programs also contributed meaningfully to the awareness campaign by designing vibrant rangoli artwork at the casualty entrance of the hospital. Their creative expressions highlighted key messages on antimicrobial stewardship, helping capture public attention and spreading awareness among patients, visitors, and staff.

The weeklong observance successfully combined education, creativity, and community engagement, reinforcing the importance of collective responsibility in combating antimicrobial resistance.
