The Medical Education Unit (MEU) of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI), MAHER, organised a two-day workshop titled “Curriculum Implementation Support Program III (CISP III)” on 26 and 27 October 2026 at the MEU, second floor, Administration Block. Conducted under the National Medical Commission (NMC), the programme featured eight in-house faculty members as resource persons and an NMC observer. Coordinated by Dr. Punita P, MEU Coordinator, the workshop aimed to strengthen faculty members’ understanding of competency-based medical education (CBME) and its effective implementation in the undergraduate medical curriculum.
The first day commenced with registration, a pre-test and an introduction to the programme. Sessions covered the principles of CBME, the roles and competencies of the Indian Medical Graduate, curriculum implementation, the Foundation Course, early clinical exposure, AETCOM (Attitude, Ethics and Communication), alignment and integration. The second day focused on clinical teaching methods, skills training and assessment techniques, including the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE). Participants also explored the preparation of teaching schedules, assessment plans, logbooks and clinical case records.
The programme concluded with discussions on curricular governance and feedback, followed by a post-test and the valedictory session. The workshop provided faculty members with practical insights into curriculum planning, teaching, learning and assessment, supporting the effective implementation of CBME and the continuous improvement of undergraduate medical education.
