On 17th April, 2025, Meenakshi Faculty of Pharmacy, Thandalam, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services, Irungattukottai (Kancheepuram District), organized an impactful awareness event in observance of National Fire Service Day. Themed “UNITE TO IGNITE, A FIRE SAFE INDIA,” the event aimed to raise awareness about fire safety and honour the bravery and dedication of firefighters across the nation.
The programme commenced with an informative address by Officer Venkatesh, who emphasized the importance of fire hazard awareness and everyday safety practices. His talk highlighted the critical role that preparedness plays in preventing fire-related incidents and reducing risk. To further engage the audience, informative pamphlets detailing essential fire safety tips and preventive strategies were distributed.
A major highlight of the event was a live mock fire drill conducted by the Fire and Rescue team. This dynamic demonstration covered proper evacuation procedures, the effective use of firefighting equipment, and coordinated emergency response techniques. Students participated enthusiastically, gaining practical, hands-on experience in managing fire emergencies.
The event not only served as a tribute to the nation’s firefighting personnel but also instilled a strong sense of responsibility among the students and faculty toward fire safety. By promoting knowledge and preparedness, the session aligned perfectly with the national goal of creating a safer, more resilient India.
