In observance of World Digestive Health Day 2025, the Department of Medical Gastroenterology at Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Kanchipuram, hosted an insightful webinar titled “Nutrition in Liver Disease” on May 29, 2025.

Aligning with the World Gastroenterology Organization’s theme for the year — “Your Digestive Health: Nourish to Flourish” — the event focused on the vital connection between diet and liver health. With liver diseases increasingly impacting global health, the webinar highlighted how balanced nutrition plays a pivotal role not only in prevention but also in the effective management of these conditions.

The session was led by Dr. N. Dinakaran, D.M., Professor Emeritus, Department of Gastroenterology, whose decades of clinical and academic experience brought depth and clarity to the discussion. Participants gained valuable insights into evidence-based nutritional strategies tailored for liver disease patients, with emphasis on practical dietary interventions and long-term wellness planning.

The webinar attracted medical students, clinicians, and healthcare professionals, fostering a deeper understanding of how a nutrition-first approach can transform patient outcomes in liver care.
