To commemorate World Cancer Day on 4th February 2026, the Rotaract Club of Meenakshi College of Nursing actively participated in a hair donation camp titled “Gift of Hope,” organized by the Rotaract Club of Madras School of Social Work. The initiative aimed to collect hair donations for the preparation of wigs to support cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, thereby restoring confidence and emotional well-being during treatment.
Ten students from Meenakshi College of Nursing selflessly donated their hair in support of this humanitarian cause. Their compassionate contribution symbolized empathy and solidarity with individuals battling cancer.
In recognition of their generous gesture, the student donors were awarded appreciation certificates. The event was coordinated by Dr. J. Anitha and Ms. Divya, faculty members of MCON, who encouraged and motivated the students to participate in this meaningful social outreach activity.
