Therapeutic Diet Expo Conducted by B.Sc Nursing Students at MCON

The B.Sc Nursing II Semester students of Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON), under the guidance of Ms. Kavitha, Ph.D. Scholar from the Department of Nutrition organized a “Therapeutic Diet Expo” on 5th August 2025, between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM. The event aimed to enhance awareness about the importance of therapeutic nutrition in clinical practice.

The students were divided into ten groups, each of which presented a model therapeutic diet based on specific health conditions and physiological stages. The categories covered included balanced diet, obesity, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disorders, renal disorders, hepatic disorders, pregnancy, lactation, constipation and diarrhea, and nutritional care for pre- and post-operative patients. Each group set up a visual display and explained the significance of dietary management tailored to the specific condition or stage.

The exhibition was inaugurated and observed by Dr. Fabiola M Dhanaraj, Principal of MCON, Dr. B. Jayabharathi, Vice Principal, along with the faculty members and students of MCON. They visited the exhibits, interacted with the students, and appreciated the clarity and effort reflected in their presentations.

The expo was both informative and visually appealing, offering an enriching learning experience for all participants. It provided an excellent platform for the students to demonstrate their understanding of clinical nutrition and the vital role it plays in patient care.
