On 17th April, 2025, Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON), MAHER, organized an engaging Virtual Reality (VR) Training Workshop for its nursing students, aimed at integrating technology into clinical education.
The workshop, attended by 20 students and 8 faculty members, was designed to demonstrate how VR-based learning tools can enhance the mastery of nursing skills through repeated, hands-on virtual practice. The immersive training allowed students to engage with realistic clinical scenarios, helping them gain confidence and competence in key procedures.
The session began with a welcome address by Dr. J. Anitha, Professor, Meenakshi College of Nursing, who emphasized the growing importance of digital tools and artificial intelligence in modern nursing education and patient care.
Expert trainers Ms. Jageetheswari and Dr. Chaithanya from MEDISIMVR led the demonstration, showcasing the use of VR technology to simulate nursing techniques. All the Students actively participated, exploring new ways to refine their clinical skills through innovative, tech-driven approaches.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Jebin Sherly, Associate Professor , Meenakshi College of Nursing, who appreciated the trainers and attendees for their enthusiasm and commitment to advancing nursing education.
This initiative reflects a progressive shift toward immersive learning, preparing future nurses to deliver safer and more efficient patient care through technology-enhanced training.
