White Coat Ceremony (Deeksharambh) for MBBS Batch 2025–2026 at Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute

The White Coat Ceremony (Deeksharambh) for the MBBS Batch 2025–2026 was solemnly organized by the Medical Education Unit (MEU) of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (MMCHRI) on 6th October 2025. The ceremony marked an important milestone for the new medical students as they embarked on their professional journey in medicine.

The event commenced with a Welcome Address by Dr. K.V. Rajasekhar, Dean, MMCHRI, who warmly greeted the dignitaries, faculty members, students, and parents. He highlighted the significance of the white coat as a symbol of compassion, professionalism, and responsibility in the noble field of medicine.

Prof. Dr. C. Sridhar, Vice-Chancellor, MAHER, and Prof. Dr. C. Krithika, Pro-Vice Chancellor, delivered motivational addresses, emphasizing ethical practice, dedication, and lifelong learning as essential virtues in the medical profession. The Oath Taking Ceremony was administered by Dr. R. Muthulakshmi, Vice Principal (Students’ Welfare), instilling in the students a sense of moral and professional commitment.

Dr. K. Boopathi, Medical Superintendent, spoke on the Importance of the White Coat Ceremony, encouraging students to uphold integrity and empathy throughout their medical careers. Dr. V. Eswari, Vice Principal (Academics), introduced the Heads of various Departments, familiarizing the new batch with the academic leadership of the institution.

Adding a personal touch to the event, senior students and parents shared their heartfelt experiences and words of encouragement, motivating the newcomers to embrace the journey ahead with determination and humility.

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. S. Saravana Kumar, Admission Officer, followed by the National Anthem. An orientation session on curriculum structure and hostel facilities was later conducted by Dr. Punita P. (MEU Coordinator) and Dr. Ambujam (Deputy Warden).

The ceremony embodied the spirit of medical education—honoring tradition, inspiring professionalism, and welcoming a new generation of compassionate healers into the medical fraternity.
