Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON) observed World Blood Donor Day on 13th June 2025 with the global theme “Give blood, give hope: together we save lives.” The event aimed to highlight the critical role of voluntary, unpaid blood donors in saving lives and fostering a spirit of compassion and solidarity.
The programme commenced with a soulful invocation by the college choir, setting a reflective tone for the day. This was followed by an inspiring keynote address by Dr. Fabiola M Dhanaraj, Principal , Meenakshi College of Nursing, who emphasized the transformative impact of blood donation and the profound hope it offers to patients in need across the globe.
A Blood Donation Quiz, organized by Dr. Kavitha M, Professor, Meenakshi College of Nursing, brought an engaging academic element to the event. Three teams of undergraduate students enthusiastically participated, demonstrating their awareness and understanding of blood donation practices. The winners were felicitated with prizes presented by the Principal.
The observance not only honored the generosity of blood donors but also served as a meaningful reminder of the collective effort needed to support healthcare through voluntary blood donation.
