World Health Day 2025 Observed at AMCON

The Student Nurses Association (SNA) and Cultural Committee of Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON) commemorated World Health Day 2025 on April 7th, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, aligning with the global theme “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures.”

Prof. Sudha, M.Sc (N), Professor at Padmasree College of Nursing, was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The event began with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a welcome address from Prof. Dr. Ragavendaran, Vice Principal of AMCON. The Principal, Prof. Dr. Victor Devasirvadam delivered a special address emphasizing the importance of maternal and newborn health and advocating for the prioritization of women’s long-term well-being.

In her keynote speech, Prof. Sudha spoke about the crucial role healthcare professionals play in bridging the gaps in maternal and newborn survival. A student presentation on maternal and newborn health was delivered by K. Bagkiyalakshmi, IV Year student.

The event featured Rangoli and Poster Presentation competitions centered on the theme. Winners of the Rangoli competition were B. Rupasri (IV Year), J. Pooja (III Year), L. Vaishnavi (IV Semester), and M. Jayasri (II Semester). Poster competition winners included A. Vignesh and T. Abinaya (IV Semester), Bagkiyalakshmi (IV Year), and S. Kalaiselvi (II Semester). Prizes and certificates were distributed by the Chief Guest, who shared encouraging feedback on the program.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Vasantha Priya, followed by the National Anthem.
