The Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing observed World Population Day 2025 on 16 July 2025 at Vellakulam, Vadamavanthal, under the theme “Empowering Young People to Create the Families They Want in a Fair and Hopeful World.” The event, held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, commenced with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a welcome address by Ms. Swathy, III Year B.Sc (N). After the introduction of the chief guest, Dr. Parimala, MBBS, delivered an insightful address on the theme, emphasizing the importance of informed choices and equitable opportunities for young people in building their futures.
As part of the program, AMCON students conducted a health education session for the residents of Vellakulam, addressing the challenges of overpopulation and preventive measures. They also performed a skit to create awareness in the community, which was well-received by over 40 beneficiaries who provided positive feedback. The interactive session allowed participants to clarify their doubts, and prizes with certificates were awarded to contributors. Ms. Aishwarya, III Year B.Sc (N), proposed the vote of thanks. In total, 80 beneficiaries gained valuable knowledge through this impactful community outreach initiative.
