The Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy, MMCHRI & RI organized The World Psoriasis Day 2023 Awareness Programme, themed “ACCESS TO ALL” on 31.10.2023, Monday. The chief guest Dr. Boopathi, Medical Superintendent MMCH&RI, Dr. Mithun Kumar, Vice Principal, MMCH&RI, Prof. Dr. Sreevinasan, HOD, Dept of Pulmonary medicine, Prof. Dr. S. Kumaravel, HOD, Dept of DVL and Dr. Rajesh Professor, Dept of DVL, MMCH&RI gave their insightful speech on the importance of removing barriers to diagnosis, treatment, emotional support for all individuals, regardless of background or socio-economic status. Theprogram saw a diverse turnout of 50, including doctors and faculties of other departments, undergraduate students, patients with psoriasis, their caregivers, and other staffs of MMCH&RI. Patient education pamphlets were distributed which was written in native (Tamil) language. Medical and surgical management of psoriasis were discussed in detail by the faculty of the department of dermatology, Venereology and leprosy. The Psoriasis awareness programme was well organized by the faculties, post graduates, and other staff members of Dept of DVL. . The “Access to All” theme of the World Psoriasis Day Awareness Programme was successful and reaffirmed the need for inclusive, accessible care for those affected by Psoriasis. It marked a significant step towards breaking down barriers and ensuring equal support for all.
