World Suicide Prevention Day Observed with Compassion and Awareness at Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences

The Internal Complaints Committee of Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences (MCAHS) observed World Suicide Prevention Day on 30th September 2025 with a strong message of awareness, empathy, and collective responsibility toward mental health and well-being.

The program commenced with a solemn invocation, setting a tone of reflection and compassion. Insightful sessions followed, emphasizing the importance of mental health, emotional support, and the power of community in preventing suicide.

Prof. Dr. V. Ramnath, Principal, and Prof. Dr. B. Durga, Vice Principal, addressed the gathering and stressed the importance of fostering open conversations, recognizing signs of distress, and creating a safe space for students to seek help. Their messages encouraged the academic community to work together toward mental wellness and mutual support.Faculty members and students actively participated, sharing thoughts and reflections that highlighted the value of care, empathy, and understanding in daily interactions. The program concluded with a collective pledge to promote compassion and emotional resilience within the campus.
