Under the directions of DCI, an awareness programme was arranged to celebrate National Pharmacovigilance week from 17th to 23rd September 2023. It was conducted on 23rd September 2023 by the Dept. of Pharmacology, MADCH. The chief guest Dr.R.Kavitha, Professor & Head, Dept. of Pharmacology, Sri Ramachandra Medical College, SRIHER graced the occasion. She gave an enlightening talk on “All about Pharmacovigilance” which gave a candid insight into the topic. Dr.Bettina coordinated the events of the meeting and Dr. P. Subbulakshmi welcomed the gathering and read about the personal achievements of the chief guest. The chief guest sensitized the audience about pharmacovigilance and medical devices vigilance. She highlighted the significance of ADR reporting and the sequel of events that follow ADR reporting. Mr.Prasath Kumar, Pharmacovigilance Associate, SRMC-AMC, SRIHER explained how to fill the ADR Forms which can be downloaded from the website of Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission. Dr.R.Kavitha interacted with the audience who were mostly students by asking them questions from the lecture. The audience responded well. Finally the organizing secretary, Dr.T.Vedavijaya, Professor & Head gave a thought provoking lecture on the selected topic and the programme was concluded with vote of thanks which was delivered by Dr.S.Prathiba. Memento was presented to the chief guest and Mr.Prasath Kumar who accompanied the chief guest. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
