Vibrant Onam Celebration Lights Up Meenakshi College of Nursing

The Student Nurses Association of Meenakshi College of Nursing organized a vibrant Onam celebration on 4th September 2025 at the MCON Conference Hall. The program, held between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, brought together students and faculty in a joyous celebration of Kerala’s rich cultural tradition.

The celebration began with a warm welcome address delivered by Ms. Jinet Jiju, B.Sc (N) II Year. A graceful performance of Thiruvathirakali, a traditional Kerala dance, by B.Sc (N) students added a cultural essence to the event. Dr. Fabiola M. Dhanaraj, Principal of MCON, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the significance of Onam and its timeless values of unity, gratitude, and prosperity.

Adding to the cultural fervor, Ms. Alicia Vincent, B.Sc (N) IV Year, spoke on the importance of celebrating Onam and its relevance in today’s world. The event also featured a series of fun and engaging games, where students participated enthusiastically, filling the hall with cheer and energy.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Dharshini, B.Sc (N) II Year, who expressed gratitude to all the organizers, participants, and faculty for making the program a memorable one. A total of 240 students and 9 faculty members took part in the celebration, making it a lively and spirited gathering.

The event concluded with the National Anthem, marking the close of a day filled with cultural pride, joy, and togetherness.
