AMCON Highlights Constitutional Duties During Constitution Day 2025

The Commemoration of Constitution Day 2025 was observed on 8th August 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Multipurpose Hall of Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON). The event aimed to create awareness among students about the values of the Constitution and the responsibilities of every citizen in nation-building.

The program commenced with the soulful rendition of Tamizh Thai Vazhthu, instilling a sense of pride and patriotism. This was followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Ms. Rahela Parveen, B.Sc. (N) IV Year, who set the tone for the day’s proceedings.

Dr. S. Victor Devasirvadam, Ph.D. (N), D.Sc. (N), Principal of AMCON, unfolded the theme of the day and delivered an inspiring keynote address. He emphasized the importance of linking Independence Day with the constitutional duties of citizens, reminding the audience that freedom comes with responsibility. His words motivated students to not only understand and respect but also practice their constitutional obligations in daily life.

As part of the program, a debate on the theme “Importance of Upholding Constitutional Duties” was conducted, moderated by Mr. Dinesh Kumar. R, Assistant Professor, AMCON. The debate drew enthusiastic participation from students, who presented compelling arguments on how adherence to fundamental duties strengthens democracy, promotes harmony, and ensures national progress. The interactive discussion encouraged critical thinking and fostered a deeper sense of civic responsibility among participants.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, appreciating the collective efforts of faculty, students, and organizers in making the commemoration impactful.

A total of 100 students actively participated and benefited from the event, which not only enriched their knowledge but also reinforced their role as responsible citizens dedicated to upholding the spirit of the Constitution.
