Meenakshi College of Pharmacy, Thandalam, attended the Chetna Series Lecture on “Cyber Crime and Cyber Safety” on 24th October 2025 at the Seminar Hall. The event was organized as part of the observance of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) 2025, with the objective of enhancing cyber safety awareness and promoting responsible digital practices among students.
The session commenced with an introduction by the event coordinators, setting the context for the importance of cybersecurity in the modern digital landscape. The keynote address was delivered by Shri Gaurav Gupta, Director and Scientist-F, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), who provided an insightful overview of the growing challenges of cybercrime, the different types of cyber threats, and best practices for ensuring online safety.
Students were sensitized to crucial topics such as protecting personal data, recognizing phishing and identity theft attempts, and adopting safe digital transaction habits. The interactive session also featured a Q&A segment, allowing participants to clarify their doubts and engage in meaningful discussions on real-world cybercrime scenarios.
B.Pharm I and II Year students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating keen interest in understanding the need for digital vigilance and ethical online behavior.
The event concluded on a highly positive note, successfully reinforcing the message of “Stay Safe Online” and underlining the importance of cyber hygiene in today’s interconnected world.
