Second- and third-year students of Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences actively participated in a community medical camp organized by MMCHRI, MAHER at Avalur, Kanchipuram, on 10 January 2026. The camp was conducted with the objective of delivering basic healthcare services, promoting health awareness, and extending medical support to underserved sections of the community.
During the camp, students worked closely with medical professionals, assisting in general health check-ups, recording patient histories, and supporting the systematic management of patient data. They also played an important role in educating the public on preventive healthcare practices, lifestyle modifications, and the importance of early health screening. The hands-on exposure enabled the students to strengthen their clinical competencies, communication skills, and understanding of patient-centered care in a real-world setting.
The initiative proved to be a valuable learning experience, reinforcing the significance of community engagement and social responsibility in healthcare education. The medical camp was well appreciated by the local community and highlighted the essential contribution of allied health professionals in strengthening public health outreach and improving access to basic healthcare services.
