Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences observed National Science Day on 27th February 2026 with the theme “Bridging Sciences for Compassion in Healthcare.” The programme highlighted the importance of integrating scientific knowledge with empathy and ethical values to enhance patient care and improve healthcare outcomes.
The event featured a guest lecture delivered by Dr. S. Kasthuri, Associate Professor, Department of Biochemistry, on the topic “Clinical Innovation & Patient Safety.” In her address, she emphasized the need to bridge basic sciences, clinical disciplines, and allied health sciences to create a more holistic and patient-centered healthcare system. The session provided valuable insights into how scientific advancements, when combined with compassionate care, can significantly improve patient safety and quality of life.
As part of the celebration, students enthusiastically participated in paper presentations, poster presentations, and model displays. The activities encouraged them to explore innovative ideas and demonstrate how evidence-based practices can contribute to safer and more effective healthcare delivery. The interactive discussions further enriched the learning experience and recognized the creativity and efforts of the young budding healthcare professionals.
The programme concluded with a valedictory session during which certificates were distributed to the winners in appreciation of their achievements. The celebration reinforced the importance of science as a powerful tool to serve society with competence, innovation, and compassion.
