The IPR Committee of Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences (MAHER) organized an Intellectual Property Day celebration on 28th April 2026, featuring a photography contest for III UG and I PG students under the theme “Protecting Ideas That Save Lives.”
The programme aimed to create awareness about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and encourage students to creatively highlight the importance of safeguarding innovations in healthcare and medical technology.
Students from various departments enthusiastically participated by submitting photographs that reflected originality, innovation, and the significance of protecting medical ideas and healthcare advancements. Prof. Dr. V. Ramnath, Principal, MCAHS, addressed the gathering and emphasized the growing relevance of IPR in the healthcare sector and its role in promoting innovation and ethical practices.
The entries were evaluated by the Principal based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and visual impact. Prizes were distributed to the winners in recognition of their outstanding creativity and interpretation of the theme.
The event provided a platform for interdisciplinary interaction and creative expression while promoting awareness of intellectual property rights in healthcare.
This academic engagement enhanced students’ understanding of innovation, ethics, and intellectual property protection, while encouraging creative thinking and appreciation for safeguarding healthcare advancements.
