On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, the NSS and ISO Unit of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute (MMCHRI), in alignment with the principles of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), organized an environmental awareness programme on 26th May 2026 at the department premises.
As part of the celebration, a “Best from Waste” Competition was conducted to encourage creativity, sustainability, and environmental consciousness among participants. The competition showcased innovative and eco-friendly creations developed using recycled and reusable materials, highlighting the importance of waste reduction and sustainable living practices.
Participants enthusiastically presented creative ideas that reflected environmental responsibility and resource conservation. Winners securing the First and Second Prizes were recognized and awarded for their outstanding and innovative contributions.
The programme was attended by the Dean, Vice Principal – Academics, RMO, ISO Coordinator, NSS Coordinator, faculty members from the Department of Community Medicine, and NSS volunteers, whose presence and encouragement added significance to the event.
This awareness initiative promoted environmental responsibility, creative thinking, and sustainable practices among students and volunteers while reinforcing the importance of eco-friendly lifestyles and community participation in environmental conservation.
