Healthcare Outreach Initiative: MCAHS Students Participate in MMCHRI-India Yamaha Motors Medical Camp at Walajah

As part of a community healthcare outreach initiative, Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI), in collaboration with India Yamaha Motors, organized a General Medical Camp at Walajah on 30th May 2026. The camp aimed to provide basic health screening services, promote preventive healthcare practices, and enhance public awareness regarding health and well-being.

Final-year students from the Departments of Anaesthesia Technology (AT) and Cardiovascular Technology (CVT), Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences (MCAHS), actively participated in the camp as part of their clinical training and community healthcare exposure.

Under the supervision of faculty members and healthcare professionals, the students played an important role in supporting the camp activities. They assisted in checking vital signs, recording patient details, facilitating patient registration, managing patient flow, and providing guidance to beneficiaries throughout the screening process. Their active involvement contributed to the smooth conduct of the camp and efficient delivery of healthcare services.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local community, who benefited from the health screening and medical consultation services provided by the MMCHRI medical team. Through direct interaction with patients and healthcare providers, MCAHS students gained valuable insights into community-based healthcare delivery and the importance of preventive medicine.

The programme provided a unique platform for students to translate their classroom learning into real-world practice. It significantly enhanced their clinical skills, communication abilities, teamwork, professional behaviour, and confidence in handling healthcare responsibilities.

The successful participation of MCAHS students in the MMCHRI–India Yamaha Motors Healthcare Outreach Initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to experiential learning and community service, while preparing future allied health professionals to contribute effectively to society.
