The NSS Unit of Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences (MCAHS) observed World Environment Day 2026 on 2nd June 2026 in alignment with the principles of the Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) initiative. As part of the seventh mission, “Reduce Waste,” a Best Out of Waste Competition was organized to promote environmental awareness and sustainable living practices among students.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from II UG students, who demonstrated remarkable creativity and innovation through poster presentations, working models, and craft items prepared using reusable and discarded materials. The participants showcased a variety of innovative concepts emphasizing waste reduction, recycling, reuse, and environmental sustainability, highlighting the importance of responsible resource management.
The exhibits were evaluated by Prof. Dr. V. Ramnath, Principal, MCAHS, and Prof. Dr. B. Durga, Vice Principal, MCAHS. They appreciated the students for their creativity, originality, and active involvement in promoting environmental consciousness. The dignitaries also shared valuable insights on environmental responsibility and emphasized the significance of transforming waste materials into useful products as a step towards sustainable development.
The competition served as an effective platform for creating awareness about environmental conservation and inspired students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. Through their innovative presentations and models, participants demonstrated a strong commitment to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable solutions.
The programme concluded successfully with active participation from students and faculty members, reinforcing the message of environmental stewardship and encouraging responsible actions towards a cleaner and greener future.
