The Department of Biochemistry, Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) organized a workshop titled “Exploring Proteins with AI: From Structure to Function” to introduce participants to the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence-driven protein research.
Proteins are the fundamental building blocks of life, performing vital functions in every living organism. With the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the study of proteins has undergone a remarkable transformation, enabling scientists to accurately predict protein structures, functions, interactions, and their roles in health and disease. These breakthroughs have significantly accelerated research in drug discovery, precision medicine, and biotechnology.
The workshop featured expert lectures and hands-on training sessions that provided participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure to modern AI tools used in protein analysis. The sessions highlighted how AI is revolutionizing structural biology, facilitating faster scientific discoveries, and opening new avenues for biomedical research.
Designed for students, researchers, and healthcare professionals, the programme offered valuable insights into the integration of computational intelligence with life sciences, fostering interdisciplinary learning and innovation.
The workshop concluded with an inspiring message emphasizing the transformative potential of AI in unraveling the complexities of proteins and advancing biomedical science, truly reflecting its theme of “Unlocking the Secrets of Proteins through the Power of Artificial Intelligence.”
