Final-year students of Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences (MCAHS), MAHER, actively participated in a Community Medical Camp organized by Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) in collaboration with Yamaha Motors Showroom at the Government Primary School, Walajabad, on 20th June 2026. The outreach programme provided students with valuable opportunities to apply their clinical knowledge while serving the healthcare needs of the local community.
Working under the guidance of experienced healthcare professionals, the students assisted in blood pressure screening, outpatient registration, patient guidance, health education, and various clinical and community health activities, contributing to the smooth and efficient conduct of the camp. The programme also offered medical consultations, diagnostic services, emergency care support, and preventive health awareness for community members.
Through their active participation, the students gained valuable hands-on clinical experience, strengthening their practical skills, communication abilities, teamwork, and understanding of community-based healthcare delivery. The outreach programme reinforced the importance of preventive healthcare and compassionate patient care in addressing the health needs of the community.
