The NSS Unit of Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences (MCAHS), MAHER, observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 25th June 2026 by organizing an e-Poster Competition to raise awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote the importance of leading a drug-free lifestyle.
Students enthusiastically participated in the competition by designing creative and informative e-posters that highlighted the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug abuse while advocating healthy lifestyle choices and social responsibility.
As part of the observance, Prof. Dr. B. Durga, Vice Principal, along with faculty members and students, took the Drug-Free India Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to preventing substance abuse and promoting a healthier, safer society. Participants were also encouraged to take the online Anti-Drug Pledge and obtain their certificates as a mark of their commitment to the national anti-drug movement.
The programme successfully fostered awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, inspired responsible decision-making, and strengthened the collective resolve to build a healthier and drug-free community.
