The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI), organized a sensitization programme titled “Quality Champions: Frontline Warriors of Patient Care Services” with the objective of enhancing awareness of quality healthcare practices and strengthening patient-centered care among healthcare personnel.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. K. Parimala, IQAC Coordinator, MMCHRI. This was followed by the inaugural address delivered by Prof. Dr. K. V. Rajasekhar, Dean, MMCHRI, who emphasized the importance of maintaining quality standards in healthcare delivery. Dr. K. Boopathi, Medical Superintendent, MMCHRI, delivered the special address, highlighting the collective responsibility of healthcare professionals in ensuring patient safety and service excellence. The keynote address was presented by Dr. C. Mahendran, RMO, MMCHRI.
As part of the scientific sessions, Dr. Sivasankari, NABH Coordinator and Professor, Department of Microbiology, delivered an insightful presentation on the role of healthcare workers in ensuring quality patient care. She emphasized the significance of patient-centered services, adherence to quality standards, and continuous improvement in healthcare practices.
Dr. S. Shanmugapriyan, Professor, Department of Pharmacology, conducted a session on Medsafe Accreditation, focusing on medication safety, patient safety initiatives, risk reduction strategies, and the importance of continuous quality improvement in healthcare institutions.
The programme provided valuable insights into quality assurance practices and reinforced the commitment of healthcare professionals towards delivering safe, effective, and patient-focused care. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Deepika Chandrasekaran, Deputy IQAC Coordinator, MMCHRI.
