Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences Observes World Laboratory Day with Webinar on PCR Techniques

Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences observed World Laboratory Day on 2nd May 2026 by organizing a webinar on the topic “PCR Techniques and Its Applications,” emphasizing the vital role of laboratory science in healthcare and diagnostics.

The session featured Dr. Suresh, M.Sc., Ph.D., from the Central Research Laboratory, MMCHRI, as the guest speaker. He delivered an insightful lecture on PCR techniques, explaining the principles, methodology, and wide-ranging applications of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) in modern molecular diagnostics and clinical practice. The lecture also highlighted recent advancements in laboratory technologies and diagnostic procedures.

Prof. Dr. B. Durga, Vice Principal, MCAHS, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of PCR techniques from a research and healthcare perspective. She elaborated on the growing significance of molecular diagnostics and research methodologies in advancing scientific innovation and improving patient care.

Faculty members and students actively participated in the webinar, making the session highly interactive and academically enriching. The programme significantly enhanced the understanding of molecular diagnostic techniques among the II Year students.
