Final-year students of Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences (MCAHS) actively participated in a medical camp conducted at Damal Village, Kanchipuram, on 1st August 2026. The camp was organized by Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) in collaboration with Yamaha Motor India, with the objective of providing essential healthcare services to the local community.
Students from the B.Sc. Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) and B.Sc. Physician Assistant (PA) programmes participated actively under the guidance of faculty members. They assisted the healthcare team in providing basic health screening services, including vital sign assessment, blood pressure measurement, blood glucose testing, and ECG recording. The students also supported patient registration and general clinical assessments.
In addition to the screening activities, the students actively participated in health education and preventive healthcare awareness, interacting with community members and contributing to the smooth conduct of the camp.
The medical camp provided the students with valuable hands-on clinical exposure, enabling them to strengthen their practical skills, communication abilities, and clinical competencies while gaining a better understanding of community-based healthcare services.
The initiative served as a meaningful learning experience while extending essential healthcare services and preventive health awareness to the local community.
