Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) takes pride in the outstanding achievements of its postgraduate students from the Department of Radiology at the International Conference – Sono Summit 2026, held in Chennai. The conference was jointly organized by the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA) and the International Congress of Ultrasound, bringing together leading radiologists and imaging specialists from across the globe.
Dr. Tarak Rohit, II Year Postgraduate, secured the Third Prize in the Prize Paper Presentation category for his research paper titled “Spectrum of Fetal Facial Anomalies on Ultrasound with Emphasis on Early Diagnosis of Cleft Lip and Palate in First Trimester Scan (NT Scan).” His work highlighted the importance of early prenatal diagnosis through ultrasonography, contributing to improved fetal assessment and timely clinical intervention.
MMCHRI also congratulates Dr. Ahnika, II Year Postgraduate, who received a Special Appreciation Award for her paper titled “Evaluation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Characterization of Ovarian Tumors in Comparison to Ultrasonography.” Her presentation showcased the role of advanced imaging techniques in the accurate evaluation and characterization of ovarian tumors, emphasizing their significance in clinical decision-making.
Both research presentations were carried out under the guidance of Dr. Sundarajan, Professor and Head, Department of Radiology, along with Prof. Dr. Jaiganesh. Dr. Tarak Rohit’s work was additionally mentored by Dr. Parameshwar Keerthi B.H., while Dr. Ahnika received guidance from Dr. Nivya Mary.
The recognition earned at an international scientific forum highlights the importance of quality research in advancing medical imaging and improving patient care.
