Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences (MCAHS) organised a seven-day Student Induction Programme (SIP) 2026 for the newly admitted I UG and PG students of the 2026–2027 batch, providing them with a meaningful introduction to professional healthcare education and the opportunities that lie ahead.
The first day of the programme, held on 31 August 2026, commenced with an invocation, followed by a vibrant welcome dance. The programme was formally inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp in the presence of dignitaries, faculty members, students, and parents.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Prof. Dr. B. Durga, Vice Principal, MCAHS, who extended a warm welcome to the students, parents, and dignitaries. The Inaugural Address by Dr. Boopathi K., Dean, MMCHRI, highlighted the growing significance of the Allied Health Sciences sector in the evolving healthcare landscape and emphasised the vital role of allied health professionals in delivering quality patient care.
Delivering the Presidential Address, Prof. Dr. V. Ramnath, Principal, MCAHS, appreciated the students for choosing Allied Health Sciences as their career pathway and encouraged them to pursue their education with dedication, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence. Induction materials were subsequently distributed to the newly admitted students, symbolising the beginning of their journey into professional healthcare education. Refreshments were also provided to students and parents.
A special session titled “Allied Health Sciences in the Era of Innovation: Opportunities, Challenges and the Future” was delivered by external resource person Dr. Rajajeyakumar, Associate Professor, Department of Neurophysiology, SIMATS. The session offered valuable insights into emerging career opportunities, professional growth, technological advancements, and future prospects in the Allied Health Sciences sector.
The students were also introduced to the various welfare facilities and support services available at MAHER through a session on “Student Welfare at MAHER University”, presented by Ms. Jayakodi T. An Alumni Insights and Experiences session further enriched the induction programme by giving the newcomers valuable perspectives on academic life, career development, professional experiences, and opportunities after graduation.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Mrs. Anusha, ATMK, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, students, parents, alumni, and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme. The event concluded with the National Anthem, marking a memorable and inspiring beginning to the students’ professional healthcare journey.
