The Rotaract Club of Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON) organized an Organ Donation Awareness Programme on 31st July 2026 at the MCON Conference Hall, with 104 participants. The programme was organized by Mrs. Kadirvelu Divya, Tutor, MCON, with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of organ donation and encouraging informed participation in organ donation initiatives.
The programme commenced with an invocation song by the MCON Choir, followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Rtr. Saaral Emikal S., Charter Secretary and IV Year B.Sc. Nursing student. Dr. Fabiola M. Dhanaraj, Principal, MCON, delivered the keynote address. An introduction to the members of the Rotary Club of Chennai Golden Galaxy and the organ donation initiative was presented by Rtr. Shalini Y., followed by the introduction of the Chief Guest by Mrs. Kadirvelu Divya.
The awareness session was delivered by Rtn. Lal Goel, Founder, Chairman and Charter President, Organ Donation International, who highlighted the importance of organ donation and provided insights into organ donation services and their role in giving hope and saving lives.
The Chief Guest was felicitated by Dr. Fabiola M. Dhanaraj, Principal, MCON. Rtn. Hemalatha Bhandari, President, Rotary Club of Organ Donation International; Rtn. Jegannath Nambi, President Elite, Rotary Club of Chennai Golden Galaxy; Rtn. J. H. Martin, Principal Aide to the President; and Rtn. Beju, Rotary Club member, Chennai, were also felicitated on the occasion.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Rtr. Thamaraiselvi, Charter Member and IV Year B.Sc. Nursing student. The programme served as an informative platform to enhance awareness about organ donation and its significance in saving and transforming lives.
