The Student Council of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) celebrated National Doctors’ Day 2026 on 1st July 2026 at Lister Hall, 250 Block, under the theme “Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers?” The programme served as a heartfelt tribute to the dedication, compassion, and invaluable contributions of doctors in safeguarding the health and well-being of society.
The programme commenced with the introduction of the Guest of Honour, Prof. Dr. C. Sridhar, Vice Chancellor, MAHER, by Prof. Dr. V. Eswari, Vice Principal (Academics), MMCHRI. In his keynote address, the Vice Chancellor shared valuable insights into the responsibilities, ethical values, and evolving role of healthcare professionals in today’s dynamic medical landscape, inspiring students and faculty members to uphold the highest standards of medical practice.
As part of the celebration, Prof. Dr. Kalamani, Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, was felicitated by the dignitaries in recognition of her exemplary service, commitment to patient care, and significant contributions to medical education.
The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 250 faculty members and 50 postgraduate students, reflecting the institution’s deep respect for the medical fraternity and its enduring commitment to excellence in healthcare.
