The NSS Unit of Meenakshi College of Nursing proudly participated in the State-Level Workshop on “Youth for Reviving Traditional Sports & Games” held from 8th to 10th August 2025 at Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. The event was organized by the Department of Youth and Sports Development, Government of Tamil Nadu, and the State NSS Cell.
Running from 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM each day, the workshop aimed to promote and preserve the rich heritage of traditional games, which are cultural treasures passed down through generations and reflective of community values. Students actively engaged in a variety of activities, including Uriyadi, Tug of War, Kavattai, Kittipuli Pandi, Nondi, and Potato Gathering.
Representing the college, Mr. Benjamin S. showcased outstanding performance, winning First Prize in Kabaddi and Potato Gathering, along with Third Prize in Kittipuli. Mr. Jasim Ali also made the institution proud by securing Third Prize in Kavattai (Men).
The workshop was a valuable experience, offering participants a deeper appreciation of traditional sports and their role in fostering teamwork, cultural pride, and community spirit.
