The Faculty of Yoga Science and Therapy conducted the 7th National Siddha Day Seminar on “The Values of Traditional Wisdom in Siddha Medicine- An Insight” on 15.02.2024 at MAHER Auditorium, K.K Nagar campus. In this regard, competitions on Cooking Without Fire and Essay Writing on the theme of “Medicinal Herbs in Indian Kitchen” were conducted on 12.02.2024 at the Faculty of Yoga Science and Therapy. Students from all the Faculties of MAHER campus participated in the competitions. A Special Guest lecture on the theme of “The Values of Traditional Wisdom in Siddha Medicine- An Insight” was arranged on 15.02.2024. The principal of FYST, Prof. Dr. V. Subbulakshmi welcomed the dignitaries and the participants. Honourable Vice-Chancellor of MAHER, Prof. Dr. R. S. Neelakandan delivered an inaugural address on the importance of Siddha Medicine to the students. The chief guest Dr.A.Rajendra Kumar, Research Officer- S III, Central Council for Research in Siddha, Tambaram, Chennai delivered a guest lecture with excellent definitions of health, importance and aspects of Siddha Medicine, scope for innovative measures, discussed some research papers related to Siddha, which motivated the students very much about the Siddha Medicine. The lecture ended with the distribution of prizes to the winners of the competitions. Totally 160 members of MAHER including staff, students and scholars participated in this event.
