National Librarian’s Day Celebration at Meenakshi Ammal Dental college. A Three-Day Commemoration of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan’s Birth Anniversary
In honor of National Librarian’s Day and the birth anniversary of the esteemed National Professor and Padmashri awardee, Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, a three-day program was held on 9th, 10th, and 12th August 2024.
Book Exhibition:
A book stall was organized on 9th and 10th August outside the Dental O.P. Block from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, offering a wide range of books at discounted prices. The exhibition attracted active participation from both students and faculty.
Essay Competition:
An essay competition on the topic “Role of Libraries in Medical Education” was held, with many students contributing thoughtful essays. Certificates were distributed to all participants and winners by the Principal.
Library Awards:
The program also included the recognition of the best users of the library from each year, who were awarded for their exemplary use of library resources.
The event served as a fitting tribute to Dr. S.R. Ranganathan’s legacy, highlighting the critical role of libraries in academic and professional development.
