As part of World Diabetes Day on 14th November, Dr. Mehta’s Hospital, Velappanchavadi, Chennai, conducted a comprehensive awareness programme focusing on diabetes prevention, management and public health education. Students from Meenakshi College of Nursing, MAHER, actively participated in a series of competitions held on 14.01.2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Dr. Mehta’s Hospital. A total of eight students and two groups represented the institution with enthusiasm and professionalism. The Department of Medical & Surgical Nursing efficiently coordinated the participation, ensuring smooth organization and maximum engagement.
The event featured multiple academic and skill-based competitions that aimed to enhance students’ clinical knowledge, critical reasoning and practical understanding of diabetes care. Participants from various nursing colleges took part, creating a competitive and intellectually enriching atmosphere. All entries were evaluated by the senior faculty members of Dr. Mehta’s Hospital, who offered constructive feedback and appreciation for the students’ performances.
Meenakshi College of Nursing students displayed commendable dedication, showcasing their abilities in activities centered on diabetes awareness, patient education and preventive healthcare. Their hard work and academic strength were reflected in their achievement of the third prize in the quiz competition, a recognition of their clinical insight, strong subject knowledge and commitment to nursing excellence.
