The Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital (MADCH), successfully organized PedSkills 1.0, a three-day Masterclass on Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from 20th to 22nd January 2026, under the aegis of the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry (ISPPD).
The masterclass was designed to strengthen emergency preparedness and enhance life-saving competencies among dental professionals, with a special focus on managing medical emergencies in pediatric dental practice. The programme offered a comprehensive academic framework combining expert-led lectures with hands-on training modules, skill stations, and interactive discussions.
Participants received practical, evidence-based training aligned with current international guidelines, enabling them to confidently recognize and manage pediatric medical emergencies. The structured sessions emphasized real-time application of BLS and PALS protocols, fostering clinical confidence and professional readiness.
The programme was well received and proved to be a valuable learning platform, reinforcing the importance of continuous skill development and preparedness in healthcare practice.
