The Anti Ragging Committee of Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON) organized a sensitisation programme titled “Ragging-Free Campus: A Step Towards Professionalism and Humanity” on 29 December 2025 at the Multipurpose Hall, AMCON.
The programme was conducted under the leadership of Mr. Dinesh Kumar R, Nodal Officer, Anti Ragging Committee. It commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Thaminisri, B.Sc. Nursing II Semester, who highlighted the importance of fostering a safe, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment. This was followed by an address by Dr. Victor Devasirvadam, Principal, AMCON, who strongly reaffirmed the college’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and emphasized the shared responsibility of students and faculty in upholding professional ethics and human values.
The technical session was delivered by Prof. Nisha C. A., M.Sc. Mental Health Nursing, M.A. Economics, PGDGC, Internationally Certified Child Psychologist and Parental Coach, and Founder of Mind Sculptor. Her insightful presentation focused on the psychological, emotional, social, and legal consequences of ragging, stressing the importance of empathy, respect, and professionalism among future healthcare professionals. The session was enriched with interactive discussions and group activities, encouraging students to actively engage, reflect, and gain clarity on preventive strategies and responsible behaviour.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Monesh, B.Sc. Nursing II Semester. The feedback received indicated that the session was highly informative and impactful, with the active participation of 98 students, reinforcing awareness and commitment toward maintaining a ragging-free, respectful campus environment.
The initiative reaffirmed the collective resolve to nurture dignity, safety, and humanity within the academic community.
