Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences Students Conduct Free Medical Camp for Elderly at Kanchipuram

Students of II and III year B.Sc. Cardiovascular Technology and B.Sc. Perfusion Technology from Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences actively participated in a free medical camp organized for the elderly residents of an old age home at Ayyampettai, Kanchipuram, on 18th February 2026. The initiative aimed to provide essential healthcare services and promote cardiovascular health awareness among senior citizens.

Under the guidance of faculty members and healthcare professionals, the students assisted in conducting basic clinical assessments, including blood pressure monitoring, pulse rate evaluation, blood sugar testing, and general health check-ups. They also contributed to documenting medical histories and supporting physicians during consultations, ensuring systematic and efficient patient care.

Beyond clinical assistance, the students engaged warmly with the residents, offering guidance on heart health, medication adherence, balanced nutrition, and age-appropriate lifestyle modifications. Their compassionate and professional approach created a supportive and reassuring environment for the elderly beneficiaries.

The medical camp served as a meaningful community outreach initiative, delivering accessible healthcare services to senior citizens while providing students with valuable clinical exposure, hands-on training, and a strengthened sense of social responsibility.
