MAHER Observes World Environment Day 2026 with Environmental Awareness and Sustainability Initiatives

Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER), through its NSS Unit and ISO Team, successfully observed World Environment Day 2026 under the theme “Inspired by Nature, For Climate, For Our Future.” The programme was organized to promote environmental awareness, encourage sustainable practices, and inspire collective action towards climate protection and ecological conservation.

The event was graced by Dr. P. N. Gunanidhi, State NSS Officer, Tamil Nadu State NSS Cell, and Mr. Aswin, Regional Lead, Environmentalist Foundation of India, as distinguished guests. Their insightful addresses emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship, sustainable living, and the active role of educational institutions in addressing contemporary environmental challenges.

The programme featured a variety of activities, including environmental awareness initiatives, competitions, expert talks, prize distribution, and tree sapling plantation. These activities encouraged participants to reflect on their responsibility towards protecting natural resources and adopting environmentally conscious lifestyles.
