MCYST Hosts “Yoga Sangam 2026” to Celebrate International Day of Yoga

Meenakshi College of Yoga Science and Therapy (MCYST), MAHER, organized “Yoga Sangam 2026” on 21st June 2026 as part of the celebrations of the 12th International Day of Yoga at the MAHER campus. The programme was conducted under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” with the objective of promoting awareness about the importance of yoga in enhancing physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Held from 6.30 AM to 8.00 AM, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 100 students representing various constituent colleges of the MAHER campus. The programme brought together students from diverse disciplines, fostering a collective commitment towards health, wellness, and holistic living through the practice of yoga.

The yoga session was led by Prof. Dr. V. Subbulakshmi, Principal, MCYST, who guided the participants through the Common Yoga Protocol. During the session, she explained the significance of each practice and highlighted the role of yoga in promoting healthy ageing, improving flexibility and strength, reducing stress, enhancing concentration, and maintaining overall well-being.

Participants actively performed a series of yogasanas, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques under expert guidance. The session provided valuable insights into the benefits of regular yoga practice and encouraged individuals to adopt yoga as a sustainable lifestyle habit for achieving balance and harmony in everyday life.

The programme successfully conveyed the message of “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” and reinforced the importance of incorporating yoga into daily routines for improved health, inner peace, and overall quality of life. The event concluded on a positive note, inspiring participants to continue their yoga journey and embrace wellness through mindful living.
